About Public Perspective

Public Perspective is a weekly political-commentary show examining the ideas, people, and events shaping America. Hosted by Jim Perron from middle America with a conservative lens, each episode favors plain talk, named facts, and arguments that treat the audience like adults.

Editorial mission

The show exists for listeners who want more than cable-news volume. We push back on lazy narratives, measure policy by how working families actually live (gas, groceries, jobs, security), and insist that competence matters more than credentials. No clickbait, no celebrity feuds. Clear positions, good faith, and the long view of the American experiment.

The host

Jim Perron hosts Public Perspective. A Minnesota native and lifelong conservative, Jim brings a working-class ear to national politics: who can do the job, who is selling a story, and what the numbers actually say. Episodes range from competency in public life and media accountability to foreign policy, economic pressure on ordinary households, and the history behind today's culture fights, including civil rights vote tallies and media framing that often leave half the record out.

Jim is open about where he stands: a three-time Trump voter who will still criticize a decision he thinks misses the mark, and just as clear about what he wants for the country: legal immigration, energy independence, military readiness, and room for Americans across the aisle to celebrate shared holidays without pretending disagreement has to end friendship. The through-line is simple: love the country, demand results, and stop letting narrative replace evidence.

Who we are

The show is produced independently and supported by listeners. Advertising revenue is limited and editorially firewalled from the host and guests. Member support is the primary revenue source.
